 Interactive Learning program for toddlers.  Children enjoy free play time in a spacious gym with bikes, tents and other fun toys.  Playtime is followed by parachute fun and circle time with songs and finger plays.

Auditions for the Popcorn Hat Players' production of "The Jungle Book" will be held Jan. 27 and 28 at Gamut Classic Theatre in Strawberry Square in Harrisburg. Auditions for ages 8-18 will be 6-8 p.m. Jan. 27 and 4-6 p.m. Jan. 28; and ages 5-7 from 2:30-4 p.m. Jan. 28. Callbacks will be 7-9 p.m. Jan. 28. Auditioners do not need to prepare a monologue. Dress in comfortable clothes.

Angelina and her friends, Alice, Gracie, AZ, Viki, and even their teacher, Ms. Mimi, are all aflutter because a special guest is coming to visit Camembert Academy!  Angelina and her friends will perform all types of dance, including hip-hop, modern dance, the Irish jig, and of course, ballet! There will be a pre-show performance by SuperReader at 10am and 1pm. Members of the public are encouraged to satisfy their sweet tooths at the sweetest event of the year, which features the combination of a museum-wide scavenger hunt, moose crafts, games and yummy treats. Sunday, January 29 - Cardboard Derby @ Roundtop

You probably did this as a kid.  Collected a fairly large piece of cardboard from your parent's garage and convinced 2 or 3 of your friends that it would work "just like a sled". It is not long before you realize that the cardboard will actually glide along the snow, but without some" modifications", it is a rather short ride.  Don't miss the annual Cardboard Derby at Roundtop. Groups of adults 18 and older build a cardboard sled according to theme and careen down the mountain. Super great time!  Bring your video camera.

The 9th Annual Heart of Lewisburg Ice Festival will start in Hufnagle Park. Dozens of sparkling ice sculptures will grace downtown Market Street, with 3 large sculptures in Hufnagle Park designed for kids to enjoy, touch, ride and climb. Also, A Cappella Festival at the Campus Theatre; Ice Festival Shopping Pass on Friday. Feb 4th: "All You Can Eat Pancake and Sausage Breakfast", Children's Winter Games in the Park; Frosty Kettle Chili Cook-off; 2:00 PM on Saturday, participants in the "Polar Bear Plunge" will plunge into the Susquehanna River! The night will end with the 14th Annual Chocolate Lovers' Fantasy Festival at the Lewisburg Hotel.  Sunday will be an Ice Festival matinee at the Campus Theatre.

Recycle Those Leftover Candy Canes From Christmas!

Make Valentine's Day Suckers

You'll need:

 

  •  Candy Canes
  • Lollipop Sticks you can get at Michaels or Joanns in the Baking section
  • Baking pan

 

Heat your oven to 250 degrees and cook for 6 – 8 min depending on the candy cane some melt a little faster than others.   I just did one first so I know how long it would take for the rest.   Then after they have cooked for 6 – 8 min you just press the ends that are not connected together and push the stick in and let it cool for 10 ...
